How to crochet a chain stitch (ch)
A chain stitch (abbreviated "ch" or "chs") is the most fundamental, foundational stitch in crochet, creating a series of interlocking V-shaped loops. It is used to start most projects (the foundation chain), build height for subsequent rows, and create gaps or open spaces in some patterns.
To make a chain stitch in crochet, yarn over then pull the yarn through the loop on the hook. There should be one loop left on the hook.
