How to use stitch markers

Crocheting in the round starts with a magic circle then rows are added to create a piece. After a few rounds it can get difficult to tell where one round finishes and another starts. Always put a stitch marker under the first stitch of each round. If you lose count or make a mistake this makes it easier to undo your stitches back to the first stitch of the round rather than undoing the whole piece to start again.

  1. Continue to crochet the rest of the stitches in the round, up to the stitch marker. When you reach the last stitch, count the stitches in the round to make sure it matches the pattern. If it does, then take out the stitch marker and start the first stitch of the next round. Adding the stitch marker under the first stitch or V of the new round.
